Director, Client Development, IT Staffing
Remote opportunity on the East Coast
The Director, Client Development is a people leader and client-facing business owner responsible for a portfolio of accounts within a designated industry vertical.
This role drives revenue growth, client satisfaction, and team performance by aligning workforce management solutions to industry-specific client needs. The individual is expected to develop deep expertise in the assigned industry, actively participate in relevant trade associations and conferences, and ensure their teams do the same.
This role leads teams that sell and deliver Professional Services, Staffing, and Payrolling solutions, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a highly visible, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Industry Client Leadership
- Own and grow a portfolio of client accounts within a defined industry vertical
- Develop deep knowledge of industry trends, workforce challenges, competitive
- landscape, and client business models
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences; actively build external relationships and brand presence
- Translate industry insights into actionable client solutions and internal strategies
Revenue & Account Management
- Drive revenue growth across Professional Services, Staffing, and Payrolling offerings
- Partner with Sales and Delivery teams to identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts
- Ensure strong account governance, contract compliance, and client satisfaction
- Monitor account performance, margins, and delivery quality; proactively address risks
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for account delivery and growth
- Set clear expectations for performance, client engagement, and industry immersion
- Build a high-performing, accountable team culture aligned to business objectives
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning for the team
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales, Recruiting, HR, Finance, and Operations to deliver seamless client outcomes
- Act as a point of escalation for client and internal issues, driving timely resolution
- Contribute to internal initiatives related to process improvement, enablement, and capability building
Execution &Continuous Improvement
- Balance strategic planning with hands-on involvement in client and team needs
- Use data and metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and inform decisions
- Continuously refine account and talent strategies based on outcomes and market changes
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing client accounts and teams in Professional Services, Staffing, Consulting, or related workforce solutions environments
- Demonstrated success owning a portfolio of accounts and driving revenue growth
- Experience leading and developing people, including performance management and coaching
- Exposure to selling and delivering multiple service lines (Professional Services, Staffing, Payrolling preferred)
- Ability and willingness to immerse deeply in a specific industry vertical
- Experience engaging with senior client stakeholders (Director, VP, C-suite level)
- Strong understanding of workforce, talent, and delivery models

- Strategic thinker with a bias toward execution and accountability
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Special Requirements:
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and conferences as required (up to 25%)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Base 120-125k with upside incentive, ote 200k
